I was a "healthy" child despite a week-long episode of paralysis, multiple strange dislocations (I only had to pick up a bike to see my shoulder hanging off), and constant joint pain, which was brushed off as growing pains (never grew out of it).
Growing up in Hawai'i, food was at the heart of everything—it was how we connected, celebrated, and showed love. Yet, I witnessed health disparities in my family and community, a shift from our traditional ways, which fueled my passion to learn more about nutrition's true impact. But my pursuit of formal education in nutrition left me disillusioned. I was taught to prescribe generic diets for chronic diseases without accounting for the person behind the disease. Nutrition was treated like a checkbox, not the powerful tool I knew it could be.
Meanwhile, I was fighting my own health battles: Chronic joint pain and acne. Hair loss and constant stomach gurgles from foods I was taught were “healthy.” Stunted muscle growth despite consistency in the gym. Emotional exhaustion and relentless fatigue that I blamed on a lack of willpower.
When I discovered functional medicine and pursued advanced training, everything changed. Functional testing revealed the truth: I had gut dysbiosis, hypochlorhydria, low testosterone, and, lo and behold, Hashimoto’s disease. Through healing from the inside out, I reclaimed my energy, cleared my skin, and rediscovered the joy of eating without fear (goodbye calorie counting and burping everywhere!).
I'm here not to say I've been exactly where you are—because every journey is unique—but I can help you navigate yours.
Now, I’m driven by a simple truth: too many people are dismissed by the healthcare system. Chronic pain, weight struggles, food sensitivities, bloating, fatigue, brain fog—these aren’t normal, and you don’t have to live with them.
I’m here to help you find your new normal. Let’s uncover the root causes of your struggles together, whether they stem from gut health, hormonal imbalances, or something deeper. You don’t have to settle for just getting by.
